Holiday Gift Guide…for the Chef

My dear friend Rosemary may not be a chef by profession, but this talented lady is a total whiz in the kitchen – I should know, she’s been my friend since 1994-ish…and has cooked a fair share of meals for me. (Thanks, doll!) Well, after some gentle prodding, Rosemary agreed to compile a holiday gift guide for the chef in your life. Here are her suggestions:

Bountiful Bubbles Apron, $32 – Because every gal wants to cook in style.

Silver Collection: The Astrud Gilberto Album, $18.75 - Hearing some Astrud Gilberto in the background while whipping up an Ambrosia salad or a tuna casserole is always a delight.

Take Us Home Tote by Allison Cole, $15 - This tote will allow your favorite chef to look spiffy while going to the market for supplies.

All-Clad Stainless Steel 3-Piece Mixing Bowl Set, $129.95 – This sleek set of mixing bowls will never go out of style.

Le Creuset Classic Round Dutch Oven, $235 – It may be on the spendier side, but the Le Creuset Dutch Oven will surpass the test of time while maintaining its good looks. The “lemongrass” version is the perfect burst of color for any kitchen.

Vera Wang for Wedgwood “Vesta” Salad Bowl, $75 – I have always loved this collection by Vera Wang – it’s classic and streamlined. Perhaps my favorite piece in the collection is the salad bowl…and for a cook like myself, who loves to make a salad, this is piece is imperative.

Apostrophe Orange Peeler, $27 – An iconic piece for the chef: The Alessi Orange Peeler

Wüsthof Gormet 12-Piece Block Set, $179.96 - This knife set has changed my life. Well, at least when I’m in the kitchen.

GreenPan “Copperfused” Elite Gourmet 12″ Open Frypan, $59.95 – These pans are not only easy to clean, but they don’t have the carcinogens that Teflon does. Lifetime guarantee, too – can’t go wrong with that.

Culinary Institute of America Cookbook: A Collection of Our Favorite Recipes for the Home Chef, $34.15 – All chefs should have a good cookbook – I’m partial to this one.

Letterpress and Linocut Recipes Cards, $5.50 – These card are adorable and perfect for storing your favorite recipes.

Bodum Bistro Citrus Juicer, $69.95 – These citrus juicers are fantastic. Nothing better for the chef who makes a brunch done right.
