Married to the Mob Shop

Mob Shop is in town for only two days—don't miss it!

I’m not sure if any of you Sacramento readers caught my Mob Shop write-up in this week’s SN&R (our local alt-weekly), but if you missed it here’s what you need to know:

Mob Shop is basically a mobile boutique started by San Francisco-based Lauren Bingham and Los Angeles-based Romy Itzigsohn. To quote myself: “The duo finds unique locations—old factories, courtyards and other unexpected locales—and uses rolling racks, mirrors and a makeshift dressing room to set up a store. The pop-up shop specializes in designer and vintage clothing at reasonable prices.”

Well, the ladies have brought Mob Shop to Sacramento for the weekend—setting up inside the Stitch model homes (which I blogged about here) as part of a multi-faceted event they’re calling Curios & Notions. It all takes place today and tomorrow, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the rear alley at 1719 Capitol Avenue (across from Old Soul coffee).

This morning I headed over to the space bright and early to meet the fashion-forward ladies, take some photos of the space and, truth be told, do a little shopping. I scored a cashmere tank by Suh-Tahn and a white knit sweater by designer Whitley Kros—both for ridiculously good prices. Here are some shots I took:

Rolling racks and mirrors help create a makeshift boutique.
If you're anything like me, you can never own too many pairs of shades.
Rack 'em up!
Golden girls.
Romy's friend Neilah Meyers provided the art for the Mob Shop boutique.
Head trip.
Such a tees.
Sorry to report, there's not much at Mob Shop for the dudes...save these awesome handmade hats.
Knit wit: I scored a white one of these knitted sweaters. Love it!
Check the Mob Shop web site to see if they're coming to a city near you!

  1. That definitely looks like my kind of place to do some shopping AKA damage. 😉

  2. Jen

Haha I got the blue sweater – TWINSIES!

  3. I stumbled onto it yesterday and LOVED it. The lovely ladies, Romy and Lauren said it wouldn’t have happened in Sac without you!
