My never-ending quest to find and feature Sacramento’s most fashionable ladies recently led me to the darling Haley Titus, a graphic designer at FUEL Creative Group and a fashion blogger over at Colour Me Classic. Standing at a mere 5’4″, the 24-year-old, bleach-blond beauty tends to gravitate toward clean lines and classic silhouettes. That’s not to say she’s afraid of experimenting with her style. On the contrary, this style maven doesn’t shy away from loud patterns, bright hues or statement pieces…in fact, she’s been known to combine all of the above in unique ways that are quite inspiring. Bottom line, this little lady has more fashion sense in her baby finger than the average Jane.
For our shoot last week, Haley’s friend Haley (yup, same name) joined us. Both girls were sweet as can be and I think we got some good shots. Take a look and let me know what you think.
Describe your personal style.
Modern with a touch of vintage. I tend to pick timeless, classic pieces.
Who are your favorite designers?
I don’t buy a lot big designer names, but I do have a soft spot for Coco Chanel and Marc Jacobs.
If you could raid anyone’s wardrobe whose would it be?
I would totally love to dig through Zooey Deschanel’s closet for the girly items and Alexa Chung’s closet for the items with a bit of an edge to them. I’m sure there would be several truly eclectic pieces in both.
Where do you turn for fashion inspiration (magazines, web sites, etc.)?
I read WAY too many fashion blogs. I also get a ton of great ideas while surfing the online site Lookbook.
Is there an item you’re currently eyeing?
I been wanting a pair of Hunter rain boots, bring on the puddle splashing!
What was your most recent purchase?
A vintage 1960’s structured purse from Scout Living.
Do you have a favorite item in your closet?
My blue oxfords with leather toe.
What is one item in your closet you can’t live without?
My black skinny jeans, I find myself wearing them several times per week.
What’s in your closet that you’ve never worn?
I have a pretty vintage dress from the Sacramento Antique Faire. Once I remove the shoulder pads it will be out of the closet and in action!
How often do you purge items from your closet, and where do your castaways go?
I do this a lot. I find myself at the beginning and end of every season at Freestyle. I will try to sell first and whatever they don’t buy I offer to friends or drop off at Goodwill.
Style-wise, is there a current trend you can’t stand?
I am not a huge fan of neon colored hair. It wouldn’t look good on me, but I’ve seen some people who can pull it off.
What are your favorite styling products?
I love the light feeling of Bare Essentials make up. OPI for nail polish. I am pretty basic when it comes to skin care—I just use Dove soap.
Give me some of your favorite local haunts.
